Thanks for the feedback. Fact of the matter is, these two were sprinting toward the water and it was all over in 5 seconds. My choices were to shoot this from where I was or not shoot at all.
As I hope you can tell from other recent blog photos, I am pretty comfortable shooting people up close; but that doesn't mean that "up close" is always a possibility.

Too much zoom. You are so far away from the subjects, and it is obvious.
why not go with wide angle / range finder, so you can be 'in the picture' ;)
